Hesperia Park

Hesperia Park is an adventure playground located in the Town Centre of Ellenbrook, suitable for all ages!

For the big kids, the main playground features a 7m high lookout tower with a huge tunnel slide to challenge their confidence and their ability to be at height.

For the younger ones or those who prefer a calmer play experience, there is a basket swing, climbing nets, logs and nature play equipment to encourage movement, balancing and tactile development.

The park also features a half court with a basketball hoop, exercise equipment for TRX and upper body exercises, plenty of open turf area, as well as a shaded pavilion with seating and BBQ facilities.

Opened in 2019, Hesperia Park took 2 years from initial design to construction and was designed to be the standout feature of the Town Centre.

The theme of the park ties into the Hesperia precinct, which is named after the Greek Mythology of evening, sunset and stars. The park incorporates small features to tie into the theme, including a lookout/observation tower for stargazing, as well as images and patterns to resemble constellations, the night sky or northern star is weaved throughout park and incorporated into the shaded pavilions, cladding and the footpaths.

Ellen Stirling Gardens

Ellen Stirling Gardens is located in the Town Centre and adjacent to Hesperia Park. The park was designed to commemorate and celebrate the life of Ellen Stirling, whom Ellenbrook was named after.

The park is divided into 3 zones; a community zone, memorial zone and family zone, and features design elements, such as brick and wrought iron to reference the Georgian character of Ellen’s early colonial heritage.

The memorial zone offers quiet spaces for reflection and celebration. The central memorial space is the largest area, which has been designed to cater for larger groups and events, featuring a central pavilion. There are four intimate memorial gardens, with each featuring different character and artworks.

Skydive Park

Skydive Park is located in Annie’s Landing, on the north-east end of Ellenbrook and has been designed to encourage physical activity for all ages.

The kids will love racing their friends around the 400m trail circuit, complete with a winners podium, to develop their bike/scooter skills or enjoying the nature playground, which encourages tactile development.

To promote active living, you can enjoy the various exercise nodes around the park to get in your daily cardio and upper body strength exercises or relax under the pavilion and admire the picturesque view with shaded seating and BBQ facilities.

The park took 5 years from initial design to commencement of construction, with the first concept designs completed in 2015 and completion of the park in 2021. The parks went through 10-12 design concepts to work around the existing lake and to ensure the park met the expectations of the local residents.

The theming of Annie’s Landing, based on the history of the first settlers and discovery of the Avon Valley has been carried into Skydive Park through the use of concrete finishes, natural stone, native floral planting, retaining of the Melaleuca trees and the colonial style shade structure.
